Governor Rick Scott Appoints Jeffrey Carter

Barron & Redding, P.A. is pleased to announce that Governor Rick Scott has appointed Jeffrey Carter to the 14th Judicial Nominating Commission (“JNC”). Mr. Carter fills a vacant seat on the JNC and was appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar for a term beginning January 25, 2016 and ending July 1, 2019.

Ted Howell, a shareholder with the firm of Barron & Redding, has been recognized by his peers as a member of Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars.  The Rising Stars recognizes the top attorneys in the state under the age of 40 and represents less than 2.5% of the attorneys in the state.  Ted maintains a broad-based civil litigation practice.  In addition to his practice, Ted currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Florida Bar.

Mike Dickey appointed to Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee

Mike Dickey, a partner specializing in commercial litigation, has been appointed by incoming Bar President Eugene Pettis to membership on the Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee. The committee considers proposals for changes to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, and the amendment of existing rules.  Mike is a former member of the Civil Procedure Rules Committee, and a former chair of the Bar’s Code and Rules of Evidence Committee.
